Magenta Living supports tenants in Scooter Safety Back
Tenants of Magenta Living were invited to a Scooter Safe Partnership event where they were provided with information in respect of safe use of mobility scooters and the importance of appropriate insurance.
They were also able to test their skills on a course laid out at Partnership Building, the headquarters of the largest social housing provider in Wirral.
Thirty invited guests took part in the event which was organised by Magenta Living and its partners, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, Merseyside Police, Easiway Mobility, Ableworld, Wirral Council Road Safety Team and Cheshire West and Cheshire Council. Andy Foster from South Yorkshire Police the lead at the Lifewise Centre in South Yorkshire also attended the event.
Mobility scooter suppliers Easiway Mobility and Ableworld displayed examples of the many types of mobility scooters available and provided expert tuition in the handling and safe use on the vehicles.
Robbie Upton said: “I rely on my mobility scooter to get out and about. I found the event informative and eye opening. It was good to learn more about scooter safety and the importance of insurance. I really enjoyed it.”
Chief Executive of Magenta Living, Brian Simpson, said: “We recognise that a number of our tenants rely on mobility scooters to get out and we want them to be as safe as possible."
