Liverpool Set to Host Country's Premier Digital Manufacturing Event Back
LCR 4.0 provides hands-on support to local SMEs to support them as they embrace the digital technologies which will take manufacturing to a new level. And this recognition of the challenges and opportunities facing businesses has prompted the country’s premier industry magazine – The Manufacturer – to bring its Manufacturing Leaders’ Conference to Liverpool. The conference regularly attracts over 500 manufacturing industry bosses, and their focus for the two-day event in Liverpool will be the future of digital manufacturing. To complement the conference the magazine will also hold a Smart Factory Expo, showcasing the latest technologies, expected to draw in up to 6,000 senior level manufacturers.
The Local Enterprise Partnership, universities and other partners are in ongoing discussions with The Manufacturer over the shape of the event next November. And all are keen to make sure that local businesses – from cutting edge digital businesses to traditional manufacturers – become involved to take advantage of the enormous business opportunities.
Steve McKeown of Knowsley, and Chair of the city region’s Advanced Manufacturing Investment team, said,
“The Manufacturer magazine wanted a regular UK venue that would reflect the values that they place on improving the competitiveness of British industry by openly embracing the opportunities arising from new digital technologies. Our digital strengths are well known, but our ability to translate those strengths into practical solutions for industry give us a real edge. The profile of this huge industry event will further cement our reputation as the UK’s leading centre for progressive manufacturing techniques.”
Smart Factory Expo and the Manufacturing Leaders’ Conference will take place in Liverpool between 15 – 16 November 2017, with a programme of satellite events taking place all week as part of Digital Manufacturing Week.
