The judging panel were impressed by the high standard of entries received, making their task of choosing the shortlisted nominees very difficult.  Chris Fry, Senior Partner at KPMG, commented, “This is my first year judging the Wirral Business Awards, and I was impressed with the quality of the entries. In all categories there were very strong contenders for the various awards and it often proved a challenge to decide upon the nominees and ultimate winner.

He added, “However, it is clear to me that the region’s businesses and entrepreneurs have a real depth of quality which is improving year on year and will provide a fantastic foundation for the future prosperity of the region.

This view was supported by Richard Malley, of Handelsbanken, who said, "In my second year as a judge I have again been impressed by the number and quality of entrants for the various awards. The Wirral Business Awards is a great addition to the region’s business calendar and I'm thoroughly looking forward to the gala awards dinner."

Kevin Adderley, Strategic Director of Regeneration and Environment, Wirral Council, said, “ The Wirral Business Awards demonstrates quite clearly the width and depth of the enthusiasm, entrepreneurial skill, and commitment of the businesses which make up Wirral’s bus9ness community.”

Over 600 leading business people are expected to attend the Evening Gala Dinner at Thornton Manor in the 18th September when the awards will be presented on what promises to be one of the region's largest business networking events of the year.
